May 1	Trip to Limestone College for the Steel Drum Band and Percussion Concert
May 6	Canned Food Drive. Please bring nonperishable goods to Morning Worship.
May 12	Mother/Daughter Luncheon at 11 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Speaker is Dee Johnson, wife of our District Superintendent, Charles Johnson.
May 13	HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
May 20	Welcome to our Guest Speaker, J. E. Griffin. Covered Dish Lunch after worship service. It's a picnic! Please bring your favorite picnic and finger foods; if the weather is nice, we’ll even try to set up some tables outdoors.  Also, any information for the June newsletter must be turned in by today. Retirement Celebration for District Superintendent Charles Johnson, 3-5 PM at Mauldin UMC Spirit Center.
May 21 - 25	CDC Teacher Appreciation Week May 21-25. Luncheon on May 21st at 11 AM in Fellowship Hall. Graduation on May 24th at 6:30 in the sanctuary.
May 27	Graduation Recognition Sunday
May 28	Church Office Closed for Memorial Day

EVERY MONTH

1st Sunday	Holy Communion is served during worship.
1st Wednesday	Trustees Meeting at 6:30 PM in Huckaby Class.
2nd Sunday	Breakfast provided by Youth at 8:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
2nd Tuesday	Morning Circle meets at 10 AM in Quilters Room. In May, we will meet on the 15th in the sanctuary at 9:45 to hear a selection of songs from the CDC children. We will then go to the Huckaby Class for the remainder of the meeting. Our mission for May will be a donation to the cancer Society in memory of those we’ve lost and in honor of the survivors.
2nd Wednesday	Church Council meeting at 6:30 PM in Ruth Bible Class.
2nd Saturday	United Methodist Men meet from 7:30 - 9 AM for breakfast and fellowship.
3rd Sunday	Covered Dish Lunch immediately following Worship Service; bring your tastiest dish!
3rd Wednesday	Shalom Circle meets at 6:30 PM in the Ruth Bible Class.
4th Wednesday	Friendship Book Club meets at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. In May, members are reading The Tale of Applebeck Orchard: The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter,  by Susan Wittig Albert.
4th Thursday	Inspiration Group for Senior Adults.  In May, we'll meet at Jane Walker's house for a cookout. We will not meet again until September.
5th Wednesday	Staff Parish Relations Committee Meeting at 6:30 PM in the Ruth Bible Class.

  EVERY WEEK

Monday	Girl Scouts meets from 6 - 7:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.
Tuesday	Quilters meet from 10 AM - 2 PM  and 7 - 9 PM in the Quilter's Hut.
Wednesday	Chapel Service with our CDC children and families at 9:15 AM in the sanctuary.
Wednesday	Bible Study from 4 - 5 PM in the Huckaby Classroom.
Wednesday	Supper from 5:30 - 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall; $6 for adults, $4 for children. Please make or cancel reservations by noon on Monday. Sign up sheet is on the door at the rear of the sanctuary, or you can call the church office at 246-4311.
Wednesday	Choir meets at 7:30 in sanctuary.
Wednesday	Youth Group meets from 6:30 - 7:30 PM.
Thursday	Quilters meet at 10 AM in Quilter's Hut.
