July 2017 Newsletter
From the desk of Elder Enrique R. Gordon
“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” Matthew 7:12 (NKJV).
Blessings to each and every one of you reading this newsletter, indeed I greet you in the majestic name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s with great pleasure that I address you this month as we embark in a new conference year (2017-2018). Let me take this opportunity to say “Thank You” for a great year of service, my family and I are extremely grateful for the many ways in which you have supported us personally by caring for us and for your support of our ministry here at Berea Friendship. We are looking forward with great anticipation to another great year of service in the Lord, and we pray that you are as excited as we are.
During our Annual Conference session, June 4-7, 2017, our Bishop gave us the theme to focus on during this upcoming conference year: “We Walk By Faith, Not By Sight” as a church we want to join in with the Bishop and all of the conference in allowing our vision this year to be guided by our FAITH in Christ, we are not going to understand everything the Lord is doing with us individually and collectively, but if we walk by FAITH we will be able to understand God’s motive by and by. During the course of last year there were many significant accomplishments that we had in the area of ministry and I would like for us to continue building on our collective accomplishments, there is much more work to be done in the kingdom of God here on earth.
Berea Friendship, I am clearly aware that the work of the church cannot be done by one individual, it requires a team to be working together and I am extending a personal invitation to you to be part of our team. In the coming months we will be working towards completing our annual church charge conference, there will be positions becoming open for members to volunteer to serve for the upcoming year, as we start this process I would like for you to prayerfully consider becoming a member of the team, if you would
like to be part of the leadership team of the church please see one of the nominating committee members and express your desire to be a servant in the house of the Lord.
Today, is a new day in the Lord and as the psalmist said: “let us go out and rejoice in it, in closing as always I invite you to stay prayerful and to consistently pray for yourself, your family, your church, and the leadership of the church; Remember that this year we are as a church and conference “Walking by FAITH and not by SIGHT.” Let your spiritual eyes guide you!
Yours in Christ,
Enrique R. Gordon
